A structure fire in the 2600 block of Lawrencetown Road in Halifax County has destroyed a local pizza place.
Halifax Fire district chief Stephen Turner tells News 95.7 that investigators are only in preliminary stages to determine the cause of the blaze.
"When crews arrived, they had a structure that was fully involved on one side, with its roof starting to collapse," Turner said, adding crews continue to remain on scene, with most of the fire extinguished.
The fire, reported at 3:01 a.m. included a second structure attached to the blaze that's now facing smoke and water damage.
The fire has resulted in the closure of Lawrencetown Road between Eastbound/Outbound traffic at Doherty Drive. The duration of the street closure is currently unknown.
