Men's and Women's Cross Country Place Seven in Top 100 at Paul Short Run - La Salle University Athletics

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The La Salle men's and women's cross country teams continued their fall campaigns at the 47th annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Friday.  

The men placed 11th in the 8K with 348 points, while the women earned 14th place in the 6K with 472 points.  

HOW THEY FINISHED (MEN'S):  

  • Ibrahim Kedir continued to pace the Explorers in the meet with a time of 24:00.1, finishing 33rd out of 357 total runners.  
  • Taonga Mbambo ran in his first competition of the season running an average mile time of 4:51.5 for 39th place with a total time of 24:09.0.  
  • Matthew Bridger bested his previous 8K record by almost two minutes. The senior came in 60th with a total time of 24:26.0.  
  • Alex Sandras clocked in at 25:07.9 and Liam Rivard at 25:11.3 for 149th and 154th places, respectively.  
  • Freshman Andres Hernandez ran his first race for La Salle ending in 199th place with a time of 25:28.8.  
  • Nathan Paolangeli and Stefano Isabella recorded their first 8K times as Explorers finishing the race in 26:01.8 (280th) and 26:01.8 (326th), respectively.  

HOW THEY FINISHED (WOMEN'S):  

  • El Mancini continued to lead the Explorers claiming 38th place with a time of 20:55.6.  
  • Sisters Elizabeth Mancini and Christine Mancini also placed in the top 100 finishing in 40th and 73rd, respectively. Elizabeth Mancini clocked in at 20:56.0 and Christine Mancini at 21:25.7, a new career-best for the junior.  
  • Julia Flood ran her first 6K for La Salle taking 175th place with a time of 22:19.1.  
  • Maeve Gimbert bested her previous 6K time by about 30 seconds clocking in at 22:21.6 for 181st place.  
  • Jenna Webb shaved off about two minutes from her previous best with a time of 22:31.8 for 197th place in the 328-runner pool.  

UP NEXT:  

  • Both teams are back in action Saturday, Oct. 16 at Princeton Invitational.
