Today is the final meeting of the current St. John’s city council before the new one is sworn in next week.
Several current members of council will be returning, as they either won by acclamation, or were voted back in during last Tuesday’s vote.
For others, however, today’s meeting will be their swan song as they bow out of municipal politics.
Councillors Wally Collins, Deanne Stapleton, and Shawn Skinner did not seek re-election.
Today’s council meeting takes place at 3 p.m.; the new council will be sworn in ahead of next week’s meeting on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, there are several items on tonight’s agenda including a proposal to turn the site of Club One on George street into a craft brewery.
