Boil Water Advisory remains in place for parts of Canmore - CochraneNow.com

A boil water order remains in place for some areas of Canmore.

On July 29 the advisory was issued by Alberta Health Services (AHS) after high levels of turbidity was discovered in the water.

Water quality testing continues to take place to ensure the safety of the water supply and the following areas have been cleared:

  • Bow Valley Trail
  • Benchlands.
  • Cougar Creek.
  • Palliser Trail.
  • Silvertip.
  • Dead Man's Flats.
  • Harvie Heights.
  • Canmore Nordic Centre.
  • Three Sisters Resort.
  • Peaks of Grassi.
  • Rundleview.
  • Homesteads.

For residents that have been given the green light to resume normal water consumption, EPCOR is recommending that they run the water for five minutes or until it runs clear before consuming it.

Potable water units are available in select areas of Canmore until the advisory is completely lifted. Residents are asked to come prepared with a vessel or container to collect their water supply and only take what they need.

Epcor is cautioning residents that they may temporarily experience low water pressure or water outages as they continue to flush the remaining parts of town.

You can view a map of the affected areas below.
