The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit will not say there is a community outbreak of COVID-19 within the city of North Bay but they continue to reveal information that leads many to believe there is a COVID-19 issue with that vulnerable population.
Shannon Mantha, Executive Director of Clinical Services at the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, says there are isolation arrangements in place for vulnerable people who are needing to quarantine.
"As you all know, some individuals face barriers to self-isolation that are beyond our control and self-isolation sites have been secured by really dedicated collaborative community partners and the location of those sites won't be disclosed by the Health Unit due to the privacy of the individuals who are self-isolating or may wish to self-isolate in those locations, similar to the reason why we would not release the address of someone who is self-isolating or has tested positive. We won't be disclosing the location for that," said Mantha.
"Those sites have been secured through a large effort of community partners and agencies."

Another indication of the concern was that the Health Unit confirms it was involved in holding a pop-up vaccination clinic on the corner of Third Avenue and Ferguson Street in North Bay on Monday amid rumours that a COVID-19 outbreak is happening within the North Bay homeless community.
"Multiple community partners, including the Health Unit, came together on June 21 to host a community COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinic," the Health Unit stated in an email to BayToday on Tuesday afternoon.
